Replace “one” direct instruction lesson

Wading into modeling activities can be scary for teachers concerned about how much time they have to reach benchmark learning goals.  For a full-blown modeling scenario; for example, high schoolers might need several days to complete their presentations, and the pedagogical skills required to coach through “rich problems” are vastly different from I do – we do – you do.

I propose we compile a site of short, simple lesson replacements that introduce discovery learning.  In this way, teachers and students can start getting used to figuring out new concepts on their own:  from something they already “got” to  “get” something new, in seamless transfer.
